With the 3ds having lacklustre sales since its release (I didn't think so but the figures say different), Nintendo have chosen to reduce the price of the 3ds by a third, less then six months after launch. For people who held out, you can get 3ds at a smigen of the original price. For eveyone else, you get to feel like you've been screwed (or regretting your purchase as Nintendo say) Of course Nintendo realise this and are offering people who bought a 3ds and connect to the internet before 12th of August access to the 3ds Ambassador Programme, where you get 20 free games and access to new releases early, even getting exclusive Gameboy Advance games. Of course you'd have to wait for the Nes and Gameboy Advance till later this year (blast you nintendo)
But what do you think of this whole price drop thing? Do you already have a 3ds, and does the ambassador program make up for this? What games would you want to see? (My fingers are crossed they bring out Drill Dozer) Has anyone managed not to buy a 3ds and what do you think?

I can't wait to take part in the Ambassador Program. It's such a step up from Sony's weak apology with their Welcome Back Program. Instead of choosing from 4 games, you get to keep twenty, all of which are well known, and some classics. The 3DS simply just needs time. It'll all make sense when Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 are released. Imagine the popularity when a new Pokemon game is released. Go Nintendo, I'm with them all the way.

True true What do you think of the first ten games? Some are tough, not because of the game but because of the graphics and the basic controls. Eh what can you do? At least we got Super Mario and balloon Fight ;D

At least we got Super Mario and balloon Fight ;D I'm liking the ten free games, although I haven't really played them all that much. I'd probably prefer it if you could stretch the screen to fill it entirely, that'd be good. Hopefully Nintendo, when they release these to the general public, will convert them into 3D Classics so they'll look nicer for the 2011 console. Balloon Fight is probably my favourite! It's just the kind of game you can pick up, have a few rounds on, and then turn off, which is best suited to the console really. I find that maybe the original Zelda is a bit old now, as in without a guide you haven't got a clue what you're doing. Although that's part of the challenge I guess. It's just that in the 80s, people would have been discussing these little secrets between each other, and together they would have completed the game. Now, I personally don't know anyone who has a 3DS and plays the original Zelda, mainly because most people are getting it after the price drop. Using the internet as a tutorial constantly can be tiring.

So what do you think the last 3 advance games will be? So far, Yoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Metroid Fusion, WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgames and Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 and Kirby & the Amazing Mirror have been revealed. I'm hoping for Drill dozer and MArio and Luigi.

I'd personally love a Pokemon game to fiddle around with. But considering that Nintendo have said that they have no intention to release these GBA games to the public other than the Ambassadors, I think they'd probably save Pokemon until later so everyone could enjoy it. I'd probably prefer that actually, because then they'd be able to reignite interest in the old games. Also, speaking of Gameboy Games, I'll personally destroy Nintendo HQ if we don't get the Red/Blue and Gold/Silver games eventually. And they'd have to be be clinically ill to not let you connect those games with your newer games, like Black and White. It'd be awesome to finally be able to trade your old school beasties to newer games. If only they hadn't lost the connection between Gold/Silver and Ruby/Sapphire...

Gold and Silver won't since its on the DS. It would be cool if they release the original Blue and Red for the virtual console, with connectivity to the lastest Pokemon games. Perhaps they could release MissingNo as an official Pokemon, that be nuts ;D.

But yeah, it'd be great if Red and Blue could connect to the newer games. And how about retro themed online battles? A GTS for retro Pokemon? And they'd better keep the Mew glitch in Cerulean City. Oh, come on Game Freak. Let me relive my childhood already!
