The other week I pre-ordered a Nintendo 3DS (Aqua Blue I may add) after reading and researching how good the console looks. Originally I thought it was just another gimmicky tool added to the DSi, but I've been proven wrong. It was such a huge hit in Japan that in the first week the allocated number consoles was almost exhausted by the huge demand. That's one of the reasons I pre-ordered it.
I was going to make a massive post on this topic, but instead I want to see what your reactions are, and if you are excited by the release this coming week. I know I am.
Here's a video over-viewing the 3DS that I found interesting.

I have to say I was dubious about the 3DS, but I got to try it and the features the other day and have to say was impressed with them. I liked the use of 3d, loved the augmented reality and the new features. So yeah I'll be getting one.

I think its just lame, I never like 3D things, I hate 3D movies and games. So thats why I dont like the 3DS

The 3DS could probably be good but...
-Might be cos I'm short-sighted but the 3D doesn't really look good to me, it looks more like drunk 'o vision.
-No original titles being made for the system yet except for the Kid Icarus reboot and most of the titles coming out so far are just ports and remakes. Meh.
-The shoulder buttons are the same as the DSi, which doesn't bode as well as the shoulder buttons on the DSi sucked. Seriously Nintendo, what was so bad about the awesome DS lite shoulder buttons that made you want to screw it up?
-Having had a very quick hold of NM's 3DS, the analogue stick feels kinda weird. It feels like it could work on some games but it just felt loose to me.
-That Nintendo are probably going to sweep the Wii under the rug now they've released this. It's like the Wii started out so well and it fell so far down and Nintendo knew it.
But what am I saying, the NGP hasn't come out yet and even now I'll say that the 3DS looks to be a masterpiece compared to what that travesty will end up like.

You can still use the Gyroscopes and Augmented Reality software with the use of the camera. My personal favourite feature is the ability to see the depth in the screen, although I guess your eyesight could effect that. |

Oh of couse. Don't get me wrong I like the 3ds (impressed with AR). I'll be getting one. Just a pain for me really not fully seeing the 3d.  |

When I first saw the 3D effect from the logo zooming into your face at set up, I didn't think much of it. However, the menu itself looked really good but Pilotwings does it for me. Just wow. I was genuinely stunned that a plane's wing was pointing out of the screen at me! |
