It has been a while since any of us discussed our passion for games on this forum, so now is about time we revived our gaming spirits and start chatting away about what we love best about the world of video games.
Ok, so in my opinion, the Wii I guess is best suited to Family orientated games. However, I only say this because there are so damn many of them. If more skilled developers started to focus on the hardcore and most dedicated gamers among us, the Wii could be a great platform for adventure games. Zelda - Twilight Princess proved what the Wii was capable of, and the new Zelda should also destroy our retinas with hours of awesomeness. Mario also does adventure well too. Well I say well, but if you look at Mario Galaxy 2, you need not look any further for adventure games because it DEFINES the very best of video gaming. I know this because I picked up a copy a few weeks ago and have been glued to it ever since. See, I'm not just an Xbox fanatic!
Well I've babbled on for long enough, what do you guys think?

Well I believed that shoot-em ups would be one of the main genres. metroid prime, red steel and CoD were all on the right track, but the wii need one great shoot-em to come along (fingers cross on goldeneye but doubt it). One genre which is not used to great effect is more explorer/survival games. Fatal Frame's a good example (I wish they would release in the UK).

Family orientated i guess but Resident Evil 4 is amazing. Nintendo do target families but they get more money that way.

all the adverts for Wii are putting across one message i think and that is that it's a FAMILY console. So i think that it's really a console for the family to enjoy rather than the individual.

I'd say FPS or Spots games.

I used to think that the Wii was more suited for sports games or another activity that made use of the console's unique controller. However, it does have a lot of potential for various gaming genres.

Yes, although now that potential is in jeopardy due to the more powerful motion controls of Microsoft and Sony. After having a play around with it this week, I do honestly think that it is an amazing step forward in gaming.

I think family oriented games suit Wii the best. I don't see playing any others on it to be honest.

I'd have to say family oriented. But, I think the 2nd top would be racing games such as Mario Kart and the rest. That is why the wheel was made to fit for the Wii. But, I also think it was made for sports/exercise.
