Hi everyone. This is the review of Super Smash Bros Brawl for wii.
I am going to do an honest review, of what I think is the best video game in the universe.
Ok, review starting... Now!
Ok, when I saw this game reviewed in my Nintendo magazine, i was amazed by the graphical improvement since the last two ssb games. The graphics are now crystal clear and the game looks great! Look below for proof of amazing graphical improvement.
Super Smash Bros
Super Smasg Bros Melee
Super Smash Bros Brawl
As you can see, the graphics have improved by far. Anyway, onto the game itself.
I first went into brawl mode, where you could select a character and fight your friends or computers. I recognised then that the roster was massive, and although I had not unlocked any characters yet, I was amazed. And look at the final result when all the characters are unlocked!
When I was about to start playing, I recognised that I could choose which control method I would like to use. Either the wii mote sideways, the wii mote with nunchuck plugged in, the gamecube pad, or the wii classic controller. I picked wii mote with nunchuck and found that it is very good for me. I just cant handle the other methods. I got too used to this one.
When I started the game, i played as mario vs Pokemon trainer. A snazzy feature I recognised with the pokemon trainer was that he could switch pokemon out. He has Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard. As he switches them out, they pass on the damage they have already taken in to make it fair.
All of the characters have a different move set, like Mario uses his fists and a yellow board, and Link uses his sword and crossbow. (Dont worry, there is no gore!)
One thing I love about this game is that you can take snap shots of fights. You can even take pictures when you are in adventure mode! (I will talk about that mode later.) Here are some I took.
Another thing that I really like is how many stages there are in this game! There are lots of new brawl stages, and lots of old melee stages too. You would be suprised on how much there is too unlock. Also, you dont have to play normal stages. You can create your own!
Now, I was amazed on how much there is too do. One of my favourite things about the game was how many different songs there were. There are lots of retro classics like the mario underground tune. Also, some recent installments are here too. Like KK sliders songs on the animal crossing stage.
Now, onto the Subspace emissionary. The Official Nintendo Magazine and Ngamer (not owned by me) think that the subspace emmisionary is awful, and the storyline is rubbish. I think otherwise. You can still take photos like you are in a brawl, you get to go through lots of detailed levels, and get to anihilate lots of different Bosses. A very good adventure mode.
And finaly, wifi. Oh dear. The wifi is not good at all. When you are with wii friends in the same country, it is good. But otherwise, you are going to have a slow, glitchy match. Sorry guys. I had to point that out. It has been proven that wifi games can connect to different countries without glitching much. Like Mario Kart wii for example. You cant tell that you are playing with the Japanese because it doesnt glitch much if at all!
Now, for the results.
Graphics- 10
Extremely good for the wii. Some of the best I have seen.
Audio- 10
So many songs that you will be blown away!
Gameplay- 8
4 different ways to play, and all are good. Just the annoying thing is is that there is no use of the motion controlls at all.
Innovation- 10
When you play, you get addicted. Great fun for everyone.
Summary
This game is the best game I have ever played. I reccomend this game to all Nintendo fans that like fighting games, and even if you dont like fighting games you will enjoy adventuring with all of your favourite characters. This game is highly reccomended.
Overall Score- 98%
